Course Name: Career and Finance Management

Grading Policy
Chapter Test grades from 0-100% will be calculated and averaged, to determine the grade for the first marking period. Chapter Test will count for 50%, exit portfolio which will count for 50% will determine the final marking period grade.

 

 

Homework Policy
Students will be given advanced notice for submitting homework or research information for the Exit portfolio upon completion of the corresponding chapter. A project due date will be posted.

 

 

Test Policy
Two chapters will be combine for a bi-weekly test. Students will be tested after reading, class discussions, review and writing of the chapter terms. Absent students will make-up test after school or during their study hall.

 

 

Quiz Policy
Two chapters will be combined for a Bi-weekly Test. Students will be tested after reading, class discussion, review and writing of the chapter terms. Absent students will make-up test after school or during a study hall.

 

 

Projects
All Students must submit an Exit portfolio, which will count for 50% of their final Grade average.

 

 

Course Outline
The twenty week course of career and Finance Management is divded into five sections that move from the general to the specific. Part one uses decision making about work to bring forward areas that include the changing nature of work, finding out more about yourself, exploring the world of work and making decisions about work. Part two provides information about entering the work force and include the following, how business works, preparing for a job you want, getting the job you want and joining the work force.

Moving into the next section Part three you as a worker, including earning an income, working with others, health and safety on the job. Part four deals with you and your resources, this section covers planning to use your resources, becoming an informed consumer, shopping around and deciding about saving, spending, or borrowing. The last section Part five deals with making financial decisions. This covers the following items, getting consumer satisfaction, purchasing financial services, considering credit, buying insurance and it is your decision.
