Grading Policy
Grades for students in the LANGUAGE! program are broken down into four distinct categories. Each category counts as 25% of each student's overall grade. These grades are determined as follows:
25% Homework-Reinforcment activities that relate to classroom content, concepts and skills.
25% Effort/Participation-Student participation in classroom activities.
25% In-Class Assignments
25% Formal Assessments
Homework Policy
Homework will be assigned to reinforce classroom material. It will be assigned at the discretion of the teacher. Work is due the next school day after it is assigned. Late assignments will not be accepted.
Test Policy
Quizzes and tests will be given periodically to assess student comprehension and mastery of learning. Anyone caught cheating will be given a zero and not allowed to re-take the test.

Projects
All projects will be completed in school.
Course Outline
The LANGUAGE! program is taught in a 90 minute block. Each day the student's lesson consists of six basic steps. Here is a list of the steps:
1. Phonemic Awareness
2. Word Recognition & Spelling
3. Vocabulary and Morphology
4. Grammar and Usage
5. Listening and Reading Comprehension
6. Speaking and Writing
*If a student is absent, it is their responsiblity to make up any missed work.
