Grading Policy
Students’ grades for this course will be determined as follows:

20% = # completed homework assignments*
total number given

30% = # quiz points scored
total number possible

50% = # test points scored
total number possible


* Note: Late homework will not be accepted unless the student is absent from school that day.

 

 

Homework Policy
Homework is assigned daily and is due the next class day. It is extremely important that homework is done using the TI-83 or TI-84 graphing calculator. Questions involving graphing are expected to be answered on graph paper, using pencil and straight edge.

Test Policy
Tests are given at the end of each chapter. Tests grades represent 50% of the student's final grade.

 

 

Quiz Policy
Weekly quizzes account for 30% of the student's grade.

 

 

 

Course Outline
During the first 10 weeks we will cover the following foundations of Algebra:
Operations, Factoring, Equation Solving, Rational Expressions and Equations, Functions and Inverses and Variation.

The second quarter will include:

Solving Absolute Value, Radical, Quadratic and Rational Equations and Inequalities and more work with Functions and Inverses and Variation.

20th Week District Assessment

The third quarter will focus on:

Exponential and Logarithmic Functions and Trigonometry.

The final quarter will explore:

Sequences and Series, Analyzing Graphs and Equations with Transformations and Regressions, Solving Systems and Conics, and Statistics.

40th Week State Assessment – Cumulative Final Exam
