Grading Policy
You report card grade will be based on the following:

Essays - 25%
Book Reports - 25%
Journals - 10%
Classwork - 15%
Homework - 15%
Quizzes - 10%

Homework Policy
Homework will be given daily. Each day an assignment is handed in late 5 points be be deducted from the grade. No homework will be accepted that is more than three days late.

Test Policy
We will not be having any major tests. In place of tests you will be graded on how well you execute the writing process.

Quiz Policy
Quizzes will be announced and given only periodically. A quiz will be based mainly on grammar concepts. You will have plenty of practice before the quiz. You will also be familiar with the quiz format. I will never surprise you on a quiz.

Projects
Each quarter you will do a project based on a book you choose to read. We will spend class time organizing the project and spend time in the library doing research as needed. The prjects will account for 25% of your quarterly grade.
